Cattle Raisers oppose climate change bill too costly for Texas ranchers
TSCRA has sent a letter to Texas members of the U.S. House of Representatives urging them to vote against the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (H.R. 2454) Friday, June 26 in Washington, D.C. "We are very concerned about the increase costs of fuel, electricity, feed, fertilizer, equipment and other production costs necessary to maintain a successful ranching operation should this bill become law," said TSCRA President Dave Scott, a rancher from Richmond, Texas. more

Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples is pleased to announce the newly established GO TEXAN Wildlife Initiative, which targets businesses and organizations that focus on wildlife recreation, is now accepting memberships. The new GO TEXAN Wildlife Initiative puts an emphasis on the culture of Texas, much of which is defined by two of the state's greatest outdoor assets: hunting and fishing. more
