Governor signs constitutional amendment on eminent domain; Cattle Raisers say more work to be done for eminent domain reform
At a press conference today in San Antonio, TSCRA urged Texans to support a constitutional amendment (HJR 14) in November that would limit entities from condemning private property for public development, but urged Gov. Rick Perry to use a special session to address eminent domain reform that would further protect property owners. more


Cattle Tuberculosis confirmed in Texas; check with states of destination before shipping cattle
Cattle tuberculosis (TB) has been confirmed in a west Texas dairy that has been quarantined since April. The infected herd remains quarantined while the final disposition of the herd is determined. Ranchers or accredited veterinarians are encouraged to call the state of destination prior to shipping bison, beef or dairy cattle out of Texas. Some states may impose enhanced TB entry requirements on Texas cattle and bison. more

The Jim Bowie Days Rodeo, Parade and Festival will take place June 21-28 at the Bowie Rodeo Grounds in Bowie, Texas. The Chuck Wagon Cook Off Expo starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 27 and meals will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. TSCRA will be sponsoring a wagon and will have staff in attendance.
