Trich FAQ and regulation outline now available
TSCRA has made available two new trich fact sheets: frequently asked questions (FAQ) and an outline of trichomoniasis regulations. We continue to work with producers to provide the most up-to-date, easy to understand information to help in the ongoing battle against trich. Nebraska cattle herd tests positive for bovine TB
Nebraska and federal officials are trying to find out whether bovine tuberculosis has spread from a herd of beef cattle in north-central Nebraska's Rock County. The herd has been quarantined and officials say the Nebraska Department of Agriculture is working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture also want to find out how the disease was introduced. more
Farmers' contribution to U.S. topic of awareness campaign
In an open letter to U.S. media outlets, Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad, (D-N.D.); and ranking member of the Senate Agriculture Committee Saxby Chambliss, (R-Ga.), urged reporters to take the time to learn more about U.S. farm policy and the farm and ranch families that keep America fed. more
TDA Market Recap June 1, 2009
For the week ending May 30, feeder cattle price trends at Texas auctions were mixed, with some locations steady to $3 higher per hundredweight and others steady to $3 lower. Buyers remain very selective as they fill orders from a seasonally smaller supply of available cattle. Fed cattle prices declined in response to lower beef prices. more
