Beef Industry Town Hall Meeting tonight in
Dumas
The
Beef Industry Town Hall Meeting for Tuesday, May 6, will be held at the
Dumas Noon Lions Club, 534 Porter, in Dumas. Producers do not have to be a member
of any industry organization or association to attend. Registration will begin
at 5:30 p.m. and a free meal will be served at 6:00. Presentations will begin
at 6:30. more
AVMA recognizes public veterinarians, urges Congressional action
The American
Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) reiterated Monday its ongoing support for
veterinarians working in the public sector and urged Congress to take action to
bolster resources for these professionals. Research shows that the number of
veterinarians working in key areas has seen a sharp decline, with only 17 percent of veterinarians working in food supply. more

for bacteria in the Leon River

Landowners and others interested in learning about optimizing their
grazing production will have an opportunity on May 13-14, at the Management-Intensive Grazing workshop. The workshop will be
held at the Wells Fargo Bank in
Victoria. The workshop is $50 per person and covers lunches, notebook and materials. more

For the week ending May 3, feeder cattle prices at Texas auctions were again mixed, from $4 per
hundredweight lower to as much as $10 higher compared with a week ago. Fed cattle prices were slightly higher. more
