Judge urges common sense in border
fence land disputes
A federal
judge urged the government Friday to use common sense and "good
neighborness" in working out access to 12 pieces of private property
in Cameron County that it says it needs to study land for the border
fence.

E. Coli
The scientists at the
Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center say they still
don't know why the number of beef recalls soared in 2007 or why
E. coli contamination appeared to be rising. "What we try to do
is increase our understanding as much as possible about the bug…"

December sees record meat production
The United States Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural
Statistics Service reports that U.S. pork and total red meat
production during December 2007 were new monthly records.
