TxDOT toll efforts under scrutiny
A state Senate committee chairman said Wednesday the Texas Department of Transportation may have stepped over a legal line as it pushes the controversial Trans-Texas Corridor and toll roads. A breakthrough in brush-eating goat breeding and a presentation by a South African expert on the use of fire and goats to control brush will highlight a "Natural Brush Control Seminar" to be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Feb. 8 at the Texas AgriLife Research Center at Sonora. more
 

FDA releases report on feed enforcement activities to limit the spread of BSE
The FDA has released an update on the Ruminant Feed Ban (RFB), a rule implemented to help prevent the establishment and amplification of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) through feed in the United States. The RFB prohibits the use of most mammalian protein in feeds for ruminant animals. more

The episode airing the week of Jan. 29-Feb. 2 continues the series on artificial insemination and learning more about evaluating estrus synchronization programs for your cowherd from Sandy Johnson at Kansas State University. There will also be a visit to the National Western Stock Show to interview Jarold Callahan from the Express Ranch; and a segment on the Beef University training program that has been developed for foodservice operators.

NCBA has announced that the Cattlemen to Cattlemen  show has been honored with a first place finish in the broadcast category at the Best of National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) Region II Awards. The entry will be now be forwarded to the national NAMA competition.

NCBA’s Cattlemen to Cattlemen on RFD-TV provides weekly news and features for cattle producers across the country.
