Minnesota finds ninth TB-infected cattle
herd
The Minnesota
Board of Animal Health announced Tuesday that a Roseau County beef
cattle herd has tested positive for bovine tuberculosis (TB).
Minnesota has now detected bovine TB in nine beef herds.

Reserve your hotel room for TSCRA convention
A block
of rooms has been reserved for attendees and exhibitors at the 2008
Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Annual Convention and
Trade Show, to be held in Corpus Christi, March 14-17. The cut-off date
for the special rate is Feb. 19.

Financial market concern weighs on commodity markets
Corn futures closed lower and soybean
futures closed strongly lower, with both wheat and cattle futures closing mixed
on Tuesday after another volatile day in the financial market. A sell-off in the
equity and financial markets carried over into an already very weak cattle
market, but overall, the cattle market handled it fairly well.

Texas Brigades youth camps to muster new recruits
Texas AgriLife Extension Service's Texas
Brigades is mustering young cadets to participate in their summer camp program.
"We teach life skills like critical thinking and team-building through
fun and interesting activities that focus on a particular game species
at each camp. Each camp usually has 30 youths ages 13 through 17..."
