TSCRA offers reward for
information in cattle killings
A reward is being offered for information regarding the almost 30
head of cattle that have been reported as shot and killed in a
concentrated area in Northeastern Oklahoma since August.
In
addition to working to solve the case, TSCRA Special Ranger John
Cummings and local officials are trying to spread the word to cattle
producers that this is a real threat and to be on the lookout on
their own ranches.

implementation of NAFTA complete
"As of Jan. 1, 2008, the
North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is now fully implemented,
opening an historic new chapter in one of the most successful trade
agreements in our history," Acting Agriculture Secretary Chuck
Connor said on Wednesday.

Collins has served as USDA chief economist
for the past 15 years overseeing USDA's program of market forecasts and
projections. Collins' 32 years of federal service has included
leadership with wide-ranging impact in the economic analysis of
agricultural policy, energy and bioproducts, risk assessment and
cost-benefit analysis, and global climate change.

More than
1,500 Minnesota cattle herds test negative for Bovine TB
The
Minnesota Board of Animal Health has announced that 1,500 Minnesota
cattle herds have tested negative for bovine tuberculosis (TB) as
part of the statewide bovine TB surveillance. This completes the
testing campaign, aimed at locating and eliminating any infection
that might remain in the state and bringing Minnesota closer to
regaining TB-free status.

Bexar County Extension to offer beef cattle short course
The Texas Cooperative Extension
in Bexar County will present a three-session beef cattle short
course in San Antonio to be held on three consecutive Thursdays–Jan.
10, 17 and 24.
Each
of the sessions is free.
