Gov.
Perry names new presiding officer, board members to Texas Water
Development Board
Gov.
Rick Perry named James Herring of Amarillo as presiding officer of the
Texas Water Development Board and Ed Vaughn, TSCRA director of Boerne,
and Joe M. Crutcher of Palestine, as board members.
The Texas Water Development Board oversees statewide water planning and
administration of financial programs for water supply, wastewater
treatment, flood control and conservation projects.
Herring is president and CEO of Friona Industries L.P., a cattle feeding
company. He is past president of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association
and chairman of the Amarillo Area Foundation. Additionally, he is past
chairman of the Cal Farley's Boys Ranch Foundation.
He is being reappointed for a term to expire Dec. 31, 2009.
Ed Vaughan is an attorney in private practice. He is a director of
Security State Bank of Pearsall and an advisory director of the First
State Bank of Uvalde. Vaughan is also a member of the Kendall County Bar
Association, Uvalde Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
Additionally, he serves as director of the Texas Water Foundation and
the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.
He replaces Dario Vidal Guerra of Edinburg for a term to expire Dec. 31,
2013.
