Farm Bill impasse broken
The
agreement will allow each side to offer 20 amendments to the bill. Senate
staff will work through the weekend to settle out the amendments,
which will come from the list of 380 amendments filed before
Thanksgiving.

Texas A&M University set to name first woman
president
Elsa A. Murano, vice
chancellor at Texas A&M since 2005, has been named the sole finalist
to become president of the university.
Under
state law, the regents cannot appoint her to the presidency for
another 21 days; but because she is the sole finalist, her
appointment is all but guaranteed.
