Statistical analysis finds little connection
between corn ethanol production and consumers' food bills

new report by Informa Economics finds a comparatively "weak
correlation" between corn prices and overall food costs. Just four
percent of the change in the food
consumer price index
could be attributed to fluctuations in the price of corn.

NRCS
provides $4 million for flood damage repairs
The USDA Natural
Resources Conservation Service has received $4 million through its
Emergency Watershed Protection program to fulfill some of the
requests for assistance in repairing stream banks and waterways
damaged in spring floods in eight counties in central Texas.
