expansion' of government authority over water

Employers must begin using new I-9 form by
Dec. 26
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced in a Federal
Register notice Nov. 26 that employers must transition to the
revised Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) not later
than Dec. 26, 2007. All employers are required to complete a Form
I-9 for each employee hired in the United States.

Presidential
candidates steer clear of agriculture issues
When farming has come up on the campaign trail, candidates have
talked about ethanol, but most have avoided going into great detail
about farm subsidies, conservation and other agriculture-related
programs. Most agriculture issues are regional, so farm policy can
be treacherous terrain for someone trying to win votes all over the
country. Agriculture also opens up debate on other hot-button
issues, like labor, immigration and trade.
