Dave Scott of Richmond, Texas, operates G.D.
Scott Cattle Co. and is vice president of Port City Stockyards Co. of Sealy
Texas.
In 1960 he became a partner
with his father in Scott Livestock Commission Co. Established in 1931, it was
the first commission company on the Port City Stockyards, Houston. He
currently has partnerships in Fort Bend, Harris, Waller, Robertson and Cottle
counties.
Born Feb. 4, 1938, in Houston, Texas, he attended Houston
public schools, the University of Houston and Sam Houston State University.
Dave was elected as a TSCRA director in 1989 and
has served as chairman of the Marketing Committee. He was elected as TSCRA
second vice president in March 2005 and first vice president in 2007.
He is a life member of the Houston Livestock Show
and Rodeo, serving as chairman of the Range Bull and Heifer Committee for six
years. He is also a life member of the Fort Bend County Fair Association and a
member of Texas Cattle Feeders Association, National Cattlemen's Beef
Association and Brazoria County Cattlemen's Association.
Dave and his wife, the former Sandra Gayle Martin
of Pearland, Texas, have two children. Daughter Claudia Wright, son-in-law
Quinn and granddaughter Caylin live in Richmond. Daughter Susan Watts,
son-in-law Richard and granddaughters Sidney and Delaney live in California.
Their son David A. "Bubba" Scott died in 1993.
