JOE J. PARKER JR.
Second Vice President
Joe Parker of Byers, Texas, is a partner in Parker Ranches Ltd. with his
brother Jim. They are involved in ranching, wheat farming and operating a
pecan orchard.
Both Jim and Joe have served as TSCRA directors
in the past, and their late father, Joe J. Parker Sr., was a longtime TSCRA
director. Joe Jr. was reelected to the board in March 2005 and elected
second vice president in 2007.
He is also chairman of the board and president of
the First National Bank of Byers; vice president and manager of Parker &
Mayo Inc., an investment company; and partner and manager of Parker Minerals
Ltd., an oil and gas investment company.
Born May 6, 1951, in Gainesville, Texas, Joe
graduated from Byers High School in 1969. He graduated from Texas Tech
University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agribusiness in 1973 and
from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist
University in 1982.
He is a member of the National Cattlemen’s Beef
Association, a director of the North Texas Rehabilitation Center in Wichita
Falls, an elder of First Christian Church in Wichita Falls and a member of
Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
In the past he has served as a trustee of the
Midwestern State University Foundation, state director of the Independent
Bankers Association of Texas, and board member and chairman of the Clay
County Pioneer Reunion and Rodeo.
Joe and his wife Marjorie (Hodgson) have two
children, Joanna Parker Willcox of Edmond, Okla., and Sarah Parker of Plano,
Texas.
